A custom kosher river cruise is a private or tailored trip built around your group. You choose the dates, the destination, and the style of trip. Kosher River Cruise (KRC) handles the arrangements. The journey stays fully kosher and rich in Jewish heritage. This guide explains who it suits and what options you have.
Who Is a Custom Kosher River Cruise For?
It suits any group that wants to travel together. KRC’s custom group page names several examples:
- Friends and family
- Business colleagues
- Special interest groups
- Camps and schools
- Destination weddings
- Bar mitzvah celebrations
Organizations also use custom cruises as fundraisers. Others use them to build group cohesiveness.
What Are Your Options for a Custom Kosher River Cruise?
There are three main routes.
Full ship charter
Your group takes the whole vessel. You choose your dates. You work with KRC on trip leaders, accommodations, and the itinerary.
Block of cabins
Reserve a group of cabins on a scheduled departure. This suits groups that prefer not to invest in a full charter.
Open to the public
Have a small group? With your permission, KRC can advertise your date as a regular departure. This can help you grow your numbers.
Group numbers vary by trip. Call KRC for details.
What Can You Customize on a Custom Kosher River Cruise?
You can shape the main parts of the trip. These include:
- Dates: Choose the time that fits your group.
- Destination: Pick a program from KRC’s catalogue. Or ask about another river destination worldwide.
- Timing: Discuss the best time of year for your route.
- Trip leaders: Plan who will guide or lead your group.
- Accommodations and itinerary: Tailor both to your needs.
Examples on KRC’s custom page include the Danube, Rhone, Douro, and Mekong rivers. Ask which are available for your dates.
KRC journeys combine each destination’s highlights with its Jewish history and heritage. Ask how your itinerary can reflect your group’s interests.
What Stays the Same on a Custom Kosher River Cruise?
The kosher standards remain central. KRC charters entire ships for its guests. The kitchen is kosher. Meat is Glatt. Dairy is Cholov Yisroel. Breads and cakes are Pas Yisroel. Shabbat programming is part of the journey.
Confirm the details for your charter when you speak with KRC.
How Does a Custom Kosher River Cruise Work for Fundraisers?
Many organizations use custom cruises to raise funds. KRC takes care of the logistics, including:
- A personalized tour website for your group
- Custom flyers and postcards
- E-newsletters and e-blasts to your members
- Registration and phone support through KRC’s offices
KRC develops and runs the program. It gives your organization a net price per person. Your group then sets the final price. You decide how to use the proceeds.
How Do You Plan a Custom Kosher River Cruise?
The process is simple:
- Call or email KRC.
- Choose a catalogue program or another river destination.
- Discuss timing, trip leaders, and accommodations.
- Receive a detailed tour proposal from a destination specialist.
- Decide between a full charter, a cabin block, or an open departure.
